Felton's memorial service

From Jorjanna and Fred:

For folks wanting to attend the Wed. services for Felton, here are some general directions. A cremation already has been held, so the family is calling this a memorial service.

Anyone who attended the funeral last year for Felton's son should know this is NOT the same church. The Fellowship Baptist Church, which Felton and Jean helped found, is quite small. The memorial service will be held instead at 1st Baptist.

Wednesday, June 29, 2 p.m.
1st Baptist Church in Liberty Hill
15611 West Hwy. 29
Liberty Hill TX 78642
(if you search for this on Yahoo mapping, use the zip code; the address won't work. church phone is 512/515-5673.)
Liberty Hill is a small town northwest of Austin. It's actually in Williamson County, north of Leander. From Austin, go north on Hwy. 183. Exit at Hwy. 29, also called Seward Junction. Turn left and follow Hwy. 29 into Liberty Hill.

I'm advised the church is just after the 3rd stop light. It's a white 2-story rock blg. across the street from the new Dollar General store. If anyone needs more information, I'm at 512/239-0154.

Felton West, dedicated journalist and lifelong Houston Post employee, passed away Thursday night after an intense battle with cancer. Services will be held in Liberty Hill on Wednesday afternoon. We will provide more details as they become available.

At right is a Statesman article someone sent me long ago about Felton's run for office in Liberty Hill in 2002. The jump has disappeared from my archives if I ever had it. If you click on the article it will give you a larger version to read.
